It is a form of therapeutic insemination  in female uterus ,using the male sperm.

INTRAUTERINE INSEMINATION (I.U.I.)

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) or Artificial Insemination is a fertility treatment that involves inserting a semen sample into the uterus of the woman by controlling her ovulation cycle with hormone  medications.The ultimate goal is to increase the chances of pregnancy.

It is a scientific process,which is not painful at all.

Steps of I.U.I.

1-Ovarian Stimulation: Small doses of hormones are given to develop one to two follicles only.

2-Follicular Monitoring (F.M.): Follicular  monitoring is done by Transvaginal Ultrasound (T.V.S.) to see the maturity of follicles.

3-Ovulation:Once the eggs are mature enough,a hormonal trigger is given for Ovulation.

4-Semen Processing:The male semen is collected & processed to get best of sperms.

5- Intrauterine Insemination (I.U.I.):The processed sperms are then injected through special catheter inside the womb (uterus).

6-Pregnancy test is scheduled 12-16 days later to know the outcome of I.U.I..
